From the beginning of the school year in September, pupils in two Southern Mongolian municipalities will no longer be instructed in Mongolian, but in Chinese. Teachers from the Tongliao and Ulaanhad municipalities were informed that the Chinese Central Government has decided that pupils in primary and secondary school will not be taught in their mother tongue any more.
