The bank's support comes well before the start of the pandemic, with a $6.4 billion investment into WASH infrastructure over the last ten years, has resulted in 52 million people across Africa receiving improved access to clean water and sanitation.Future investment is set to provide 154 million with access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation over the next decade. Investment into WASH infrastructure will be vital in the coming months and years to combat COVID-19.
