A new United Nations report has disclosed that Asia will not be able to achieve more than 10% of its SDG goals. Dr Nagesh Kumar, Director of UNESCAP’s South and South-West Asia Office stated, "The subregion was facing challenges due to natural disasters, lack of access to basic water and sanitation services (with 62% of people in rural areas lacking access) and inadequate government spending on education, health services and social protection." This predicted failure of clean water and sanitation still being an issue after 2030, is yet to be recognised globally amongst global governments. What else can be done to help Asia achieve this SDG?
