Washing your hands is the cheapest form of protecting yourself and your loved ones against coronavirus. Handwashing works by killing germs and pathogens that may be present in your hands, particularly after using the toilet, handling garbage, touching animals and surfaces in public spaces. When done effectively, washing your hands with soap will kill the outer shell of coronavirus. But how do you wash your hands properly?Although there are a couple of easy steps to follow, it is important to use soap and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, which is equal to singing happy birthday twice. If you do not have access to soap or clean water, then UNICEF advises using hand sanitizer with a minimum of 60% alcohol.Washing your hands must become a daily habit to help protect you and your loved ones from contracting coronavirus.Â
