Erin Brockovich is a water activist who has invested a vast amount of her career in tackling America's water crisis. In this article, she discusses the current issues threatening the water supplies of millions of Americans, raising awareness to trigger action to combat these challenges.Polluted water is threatening the health of millions in the United States. Hazardous chemicals and products from industrial waste and agriculture are contaminating water sources, that supply Americans across all states. According to Erin, on the market, there are 40,000 chemicals, yet only a couple of hundred are regulated. This means that many toxins found in water systems remain undetected and therefore increase the risk of developing health-related issues. The way to tackle this crisis is to work together, to raise awareness and promote action. Clean water is a basic necessity and a human right. We must therefore continue to work towards managing supplies sustainably, ensuring there is universal access to clean water.
