The Statistics Tell Us There's a Problem. Students Can Tell Us Why.
Research consistently shows that many students are experiencing financial pressures while studying. Rising accommodation costs, increasing food prices and higher transport expenses are affecting student life across the UK.
Statistics help us understand the scale of the issue, but they don't explain what it's actually like to live through it.
That's why The Student Cost of Living Experience is asking students to share their experiences.
Whether you've had to work longer hours, budget more carefully, skip social events, worry about paying rent or simply change the way you live, your experience matters.
We're currently inviting students to contribute through:
π€ A short interview (around 15 minutes)
π An online survey
π An anonymous written story
Every contribution helps build a clearer picture of the challenges students are facing and supports wider conversations around student wellbeing, financial support and the realities of university life today.
If you're a student, we'd love to hear from you.
If you work in higher education, student support or the charity sector, we'd also welcome the opportunity to connect and help amplify student voices.
