Green Tech becomes first recycling company in Europe to be recognized by Gold Standard for issuing carbon credits

The company Green Tech has become the first recycling company in Europe, to be endorsed by the Gold Standard for issuing carbon credits for PET recycling activity.Green Tech’s project for Emissions Reductions from PET Recycling is the first of a kind in Europe to apply PET wast frameworks through PET waste recycling, proactively reducing greenhouse gas emission that would otherwise be required for the production of plastic products made from new inputs.Green Tech is estimated to issue approximately 453,000 carbon credits on the voluntary carbon offset market with an annual average of greenhouse gas emissions reduction of 43,380 tonnes of CO2 per year over the 10-year crediting period. The carbon credit will be then sold to companies striving to achieve decarbonization targets or individuals trying to reduce their carbon footprint.A strong step into a world with more responsible consumption and production of plastic products.
