Although tornados are not as rare as we often think, they usually do not touch the ground with such a force.
According to a Czech Television meteorologist, the tornado may have reached F3 or 4 strength, making it the strongest tornado to hit the Czech Republic in modern history and the first since 2018.
From 2011 to 2020, the US averaged a preliminary total of 1,173 tornadoes per year, and Europe only around 256. Tornadoes have been reported in every continent on Earth except Antarctica - and even there they are theoretically possible.
