Adaptive Computer-Assisted Remediation Programs (ACARPs) is a new innovation personalizing each student's skills and development process. It is developed to help students with lower skills for example in mathematics, to improve them quicker by providing content that is tailored to the learning needs of students, commonly known as "teaching at the right level". Recent pilot shows very promising results, especially in the current situation of COVID-19-related school closures.
This comes in the context of children in South America missing out on education and falling behind as the result of cognitive gaps. The underlying problem is the quality of secondary education being received by pupils, which affects their learning at higher education, preventing them from keeping up with their peers.
And so an alternative to leveling out cognitive skills during the first year of university is to use the information and personalize the student's skills development process. This is where Adaptive Computer-Assisted Remediation Programs (ACARPs) come in.
