Arya Quality Education

Many educational facilities in the Central African Republic (CAR) have closed their doors due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and so students and teachers have found a new source for learning: radio. The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is producing a weekday radio education program known as “L’Ecole a la Radio” (The School on the Radio). JRS is supporting internally displaced persons and local communities with funding from the global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises. The aim of this project is to ensure preschool and primary students who have not been able to go back to class since March 2020, are able to access quality education despite the current circumstances. L’Ecole a la Radio not only offers important learning, but also psychosocial support for children who have been displaced by conflict and violence. Currently over 2,980 people now listen to the radio broadcast.
