Young people are helping change the conversation around mental health šŸ’š

Matt Mental Health

Sometimes making a difference starts with something as simple as reaching out to another person.

Ahead of World Mental Health Day, UNICEF's Global Youth Mental Health Coalition launched Turn Down the Noise, a new international campaign designed to help young people build stronger social connections.

What makes this initiative particularly encouraging is that young people helped create it.

The campaign features a short film made by young people, alongside practical resources including conversation prompts, daily connection challenges and short wellbeing exercises.

The aim is to make those small but sometimes difficult moments — starting a conversation, reaching out to a friend or asking for support — feel a little more achievable.

It's an encouraging example of organisations listening to the people they want to support and involving them in creating solutions.

Because meaningful change happens when people are given a voice, not just told what they need.
