Chancellor Sets Out Vision Ahead of Autumn Statement
Speaking from Downing Street this morning, Chancellor Rachel Reeves outlined her priorities ahead of the Autumn Statement later this month, promising a Budget built on “fairness and opportunity.”
Amid growing speculation over potential income tax rises to address a shortfall in the public finances, Reeves said she was prepared to “make the choices necessary to deliver strong foundations for our economy for years to come.”
The address serves as a prelude to a challenging Autumn Statement on 26 November, where the Chancellor is widely expected to announce measures to raise revenue and restore fiscal stability in the face of weak economic growth and elevated borrowing costs.
