COVID- 19 is an infectious disease caused by the most novel coronavirus. The current outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. COVID- 19 is a global pandemic, affecting most countries in the world.
The most common symptoms to be aware of are fever, dry cough and fatigue. More uncommon symptoms can range between loss of taste, skin irritations, diarrhea, nasal congestion, sore throat, and so on. Some people carry COVID- 19 but experience little or no symptoms.
How to protect yourself and others: Ensuring consistent hand and respiratory hygiene is one of the best measures against the spread of COVID- 19. Social distancing by maintaining a distance of minimum 1 meter is also a protective measure, in case someone has or is coughing or sneezing. Maintaining a 1 meter distance between yourself and others when possible will help keep others safe, as some people experience little to no symptoms. Keeping a distance will be more effective in areas where COVID- 19 is circulating.
