Water management is vital to achieving clean water and sanitation by 2030

Clean Water and Sanitation

A recent announcement by the United Nations highlighted that SDG 6 (Sustainable Development Goal) is currently off-track.

Achieving SDG 6 is vital to ensure other SDGs are met, as not fulfiling the goal can have a knock-on effect on other goals such as good health and well-being.

Climate change is increasingly threatening water security around the world. as changing rainfall patterns and rising temperatures, for example, have generated an increase in water demands. Effective water management is crucial in preparation for future uncertainties, such as climate change and its effects of water.

Robust planning will have to be implemented that will focus on planning for different possible futures. Additionally, the use of legal frameworks and coordinating integrated water management will ensure we are on track to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
